Morning and afternoon activities

Morning and afternoon activities offer children a safe place to spend time before and after the school day. The activities are guided and supervised free time in the company of safe adults. The objectives of the activities are:

• guarantee a safe morning and afternoon for children
• produces experiences of success for children
• provide an opportunity for social relationships
• to offer refreshing and developing activities
• give a chance to rest

During the activity, children play, exercise, go outside, do crafts, read, rest and eat a snack. The activities also take into account the children's wishes where possible.

The morning and afternoon activities organized by the municipality of Kihniö fall under the jurisdiction of the cultural services administration, and the cultural and welfare board approves the action plan and the fees charged for the activities.

Morning and afternoon activities are offered to all first and second grade students at Kihniö municipal comprehensive schools, as well as to students in other grades referred to in Sections 20 c and 20 i of the Basic Education Act. Participation in the activities is voluntary. The activities are organized on school working days from Monday to Friday.
