Käskyvuori Observation Tower
Command Mountain is a high rock formation, clearly rising higher than its surroundings, in the northern parts of Pirkanmaa, right on the border of Kihniö and Jalasjärvi.
The peak of Käskyvuori rises to a height of 187,9 meters above sea level and 45,2 meters above the surface of the nearby Käskylampi. The mountain wall is very steep, especially on its northern edge. The drop from the top of the mountain to the bog is over 25 meters over a distance of about 55 meters. On the south side of Käskyvuori there is another rock formation, about 180 meters high.
A 21-kilometer cross-country trail that starts in Pyhäniemi, Kihniö, ends at the top of Käskyvuori. There is a lean-to and a large hut with fireplaces for 50 people at the top of Käskyvuori.
There is also a nature trail on Käskyvuori, which starts from the Käskyvuori parking lot towards Käskylamminneva. In the direction of Käskylamminneva, the trail heads towards the provincial border, from where it winds over the rocks and up the slope of Käskyvuori to the lean-to and observation tower on the top of Käskyvuori. The climb to Käskyvuori is quite demanding, so the nature trail is not suitable for those with very weak fitness. The nature trail is approximately 2,5 km long.
The new observation tower on Käskyvuori has been completed. The tower was inaugurated on May Day, May 1, 2017.
The project is supported by Kihniö Lions Club.

The easiest way to get to Käskyvuori is by car, the parking lot is about 500 meters from the viewpoint.
Driving instructions:
By car, the simplest route goes through the center of Kihniö and north on road 2790. After about ten kilometers, turn left at the red barn onto Itäpääntie. Itäpääntie turns into Käskyvuorentie on the way. There are signs all the way to the destination. There are signs along the road.
The winding dirt road, which becomes very narrow at the end, runs through the Finnish film landscapes of Pääjärvi. At the intersections, it is worth keeping your eyes on the Käskyvuori signs until a spacious turning point is revealed in the middle of the forest at the end of the road. The car can be parked when there is only about 500 meters left to walk to the destination.
