Veterinary services include the assessment and treatment of animal health and diseases, as well as the issuance of veterinary certificates. The services also include the maintenance of animal health and welfare, preventive health care and, if necessary, the euthanasia of the animal.

Veterinary emergency is intended for urgent medical cases. The veterinary emergency service is located in Parkano, Kihniö and Ikaalisi.

The paid emergency number for veterinarians is 0600 13590. The call costs €2/minute + landline/mobile and is only available during emergency hours. Emergency hours are 15 p.m.–7 a.m. on weekdays and start on Friday at 07 p.m. and end on Monday at 7 a.m. on weekends. On public holidays, emergency hours start at 15 p.m. on the weekday before the holiday and end at 15 a.m. on the weekday after the holiday.

The supervisory veterinarian handles animal protection matters in Ikaali, Parkano and Kihniö.
