The motion for a resolution was adopted unanimously.
Two minutes reviewers will be elected. In accordance with the agreed practice, the reviewers will be Erkki Välimäki and Anne-Maria Koivistoinen. The minutes will be reviewed on 1.9.2025 and will be available for viewing on 2.9.2025 on the municipality's information network.

The Finnish Association for the Elderly has celebrated Senior Citizens' Day on the first Sunday of October since 1954. The week following is Senior Citizens' Week. This year, Senior Citizens' Week will be celebrated from 6 to 12 October 2025 with the theme Happiness grows in community – Lycka växer i gemenskap.
The Kihniö Council for the Elderly and Disabled, together with municipal actors, has organized an annual program for the elderly in Kihniö during Senior Citizens' Week.
The Council for the Elderly and Disabled decides to organize the following program:
Tuesday, October 7.10th, 12-19pm InBody body composition measurement in the library's fairy tale room.
Tuesday, October 7.10th, 13-14 pm SeniorSurf at the library. Coffee will be served during the event.
Wednesday 8.10 October, 11am-13pm, Suutarinpuisto event. The program includes balance exercises, tonkkum, bocce, pancakes and sausages.
Friday, October 10th, 10.10am-12pm, Käskyvuori nature event. The program includes a nature trail, sausage roasting and soot-pan coffee. Pick-up will be arranged from Kihniö village at 9.30am.
In addition, members of the chamber travel to meet with the elderly in nursing homes.
In addition to the above, other events may also be organized, which will be announced separately.

According to Section 32 of the Welfare Areas Act (611/2021), the regional government must establish a welfare area elderly council to ensure the participation and influence opportunities of the elderly population, and a welfare area disability council to ensure the participation and influence opportunities of persons with disabilities.
The Pirkanmaa Regional Government requests the municipalities in the welfare region to appoint members to the advocacy bodies from among the members of the corresponding advocacy bodies operating in the municipalities as follows:
- municipalities with over 200,000 inhabitants five (5) members for each advocacy body
- municipalities with over 20,000 inhabitants two (2) members for each advocacy body
- municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants one (1) member for each advocacy body
The members of the advocacy bodies are elected from among the members of the corresponding advocacy bodies operating in the municipalities of the welfare area, so that at least one representative is elected from each advocacy body. In addition, other persons may be elected to the advocacy bodies. The regional government must ensure the operating conditions of the advocacy bodies.
Advocacy institutions must be given the opportunity to influence the planning, preparation, implementation and monitoring of the welfare area's activities in matters that are or are assessed by the advocacy institution to be significant for children and young people, the elderly population or people with disabilities and the services they need, and advocacy institutions must be involved in developing participation and consultation in the welfare area.
The Council for the Elderly and Disabled decides to choose:
- Erkki Välimäki appointed as member of the Disability Council and Anne-Maria Koivistoinen as deputy member
- Leena Ojalan as a member of the Senior Citizens Council and Marjo Niemen as a deputy member
Leena Ojala left after the matter was discussed.

Pirkanmaa welfare region
- Free gym hours for pensioners will start in September.
- The Pirkanmaa welfare region's partnership grant application, general grant application, and targeted general grant application for supporting the functional capacity of older people and alleviating loneliness are open from October 13 to November 9, 2025.
- A representative from Lähitori will be invited to the next meeting of the Council for the Elderly and Disabled.
- The Pirkanmaa Memory Association will visit Suutarinpihlajä on September 16, 2025.
- Get the elderly out campaign 8-21 September 2025.
The Council for the Elderly and Disabled notes notifications and other matters as brought to its attention and discusses other current issues.
