Privacy Policy
The processing of personal data in the municipality is in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) entered into force on 25 May 2018. The Data Protection Regulation is directly applicable legislation, which will also be followed in the municipality of Kihniö from 25 May 2018. The regulation will clarify and harmonise the provisions on the processing of personal data in all EU member states.
Key points in the new regulation
Proper processing of personal data strengthens the rights of the data subject and increases openness and transparency. Key features of the General Data Protection Regulation include:

- Appropriateness and accuracy of the personal data collected
- Adding an open notice
Information requests
Requests for documents and information are received at the municipal office service point (except for requests from social and healthcare services). A fee may be charged for a request for information on certain grounds. See the attached fee.
Information requests can also be sent to kihnio@kihnio.fi.
When requesting information about a confidential document or documents that can only be disclosed under certain conditions, the person requesting the document must state the purpose of the information and be able to verify their identity. The municipality may also request other additional information from the person requesting the document if it is needed to clarify the conditions for disclosure of the information.
Requests for information regarding confidential documents must be made in writing using the municipality's information request form, which must include the personal signature of the person requesting the information. The request should be submitted to the municipal office or to kihnio@kihnio.fi.
Transfer of documents to the welfare area, information requests from January 1, 2023
Customer and patient documents and related administrative documents created in activities under the municipality's organizational responsibility, as well as customer and patient documents transferred from private service providers under the municipality's control, were transferred to the competent authority responsible for organizing social and healthcare services in the welfare area to which the municipality belongs.
Privacy Policy
Social and health care, including the services of Tampere University Hospital, were transferred to the Pirkanmaa Welfare Region on 1 January 2023. After this, requests for inspection, correction and log information regarding customer and patient data must be sent to To the Pirkanmaa welfare region.
If the processing of the request you previously sent has not been completed in the Pirkanmaa Hospital District, you will receive a response from the Pirkanmaa Welfare Region in early 2023.
The EU General Data Protection Regulation guarantees various rights to the data subject, i.e. the person whose data is processed. The rights apply differently depending on the basis for the processing of personal data. Data subject rights page Data subject rights - pirha.fi
