Thanks to those who participated in the municipal offices' color discussion. Kihniö-themed product prizes were raffled among the participants. The winners have been notified.
For the survey, four different test color options were painted on the wall of the office on the school side so that residents could evaluate the shades in natural light. The colors were chosen as pastel shades that were suitable for the village image.
All color options received support. The most popular were shades of pink. The brighter pink shades received the most positive comments, and the slightly lighter pink, “old school pink,” also had a solid following. The gray-toned color also received support, as did the white shade. Only 31 votes were cast on the ballots. Facebook results in brackets.

The “Expert Jury” focuses on shades of pink that are more pastel, i.e. traditional “old school” in style. The color is from the Tikkurila color atlas of Helsinki’s old wooden houses. Although the brighter/sharper pink received more votes, a more moderate and softer pink shade is chosen for the buildings, because the sharper pink may “pop” too much from the surroundings.
A discussion on the municipality's Facebook page reveals that the opinions of the municipality's residents are divided into several different camps:

- Supporters of stronger rosé and tradition: Some of the commenters clearly sided with the shades (alternatives 1 and 2). Among other things, a proposal for a stronger pink was raised, which was considered to bring out the building beautifully. Those who respected the old color scheme hoped that the appearance of the agency would not change too radically.
- Fans of freshness and brightness: Option number 4 was praised for its practicality, freshness and brightness. Supporters of this trend believe that this shade is best suited to this type of public buildings.
- Opponents of grayness: The discussion strongly highlighted the boredom with "dull and cheerful gray", which many believe is used far too much everywhere these days. Gray alternatives were criticized as boring.
- Of course, grayscale (3) was also considered a neutral and safe choice.
- Longing for new colors: Some residents would have liked to see something completely different in the selection, such as yellow or light blue, which would be taken directly from the colors of the Kihniö logo. The current four trial colors were described as a bit bland in this camp.
